Every Pirate needs a map. Complete your New Student Checklist to chart your journey.
The New Student Checklist includes setting up your PirateID and email, paying your enrollment deposit, consulting with academic advising to register for classes. University contacts and transfer student specific FAQs are also listed on this page.
Navigate the Seas
Scout the lay of the land. Join a campus tour and attend orientation to get your bearings.
Campus Tours and Events are directed towards prospective and admitted transfer students to provide opportunities to explore campus.
Orientation is offered both in-person and online, both directed towards admitted transfer students looking introduce students and their families to academic policies and campus resources. During orientation students will meet with Academic Advisors, register for classes, receive their ECU 1Card, and meet other Transfer Students.
Anchor in at ECU
Sharpen your pirate instincts! Enroll in ECU’s COAD 1000 seminar course designed specifically for transfer students. This seminar course focuses on assisting students with the transition to East Carolina University from the perspective of a student who has previous college experience. In addition to these topics, this section discusses topics such as interaction with the Career Center, study abroad, and personal branding.
Explore Pirate Quarters
Looking for your pirate crew? Check out Quest LLC to establish an immediate sense of connection with fellow transfer students. QUEST is an exciting residential learning opportunity open to incoming transfer students who desire to live on campus. The community is structured to help transfer students make a seamless transition into the ECU campus. Unique programs and activities are intended to facilitate meaningful connections among students and encourage early engagement within the ECU community.
