ECU New Student Welcome and Convocation 2022

ECU New Student Welcome and Convocation 2022 is scheduled for Sunday, August 21 at 4:00pm at Minges Coliseum.  The class year photo for the Class of 2026 will follow on the football field.

The New Student Welcome and Convocation is designed to foster community building traditions, student involvement and campus commitment. This event is designed to celebrate new students’ entry into higher education; officially welcome you to college; build a sense of group identity among members of the entering class; and create a favorable first impression of ECU.

During New Student Welcome and Convocation, students will hear from Chancellor Philip Rogers and Athletics Director Jon Gilbert.

The beginning of the event is the more formal welcome, which is immediately preceded by a pep rally led by the ECU Athletics Department. Head coaches are introduced and the pep band, cheerleaders, and dance team lead the students in the fight song, as well as popular chants and cheers.
