First Year Students

 

The goal of First Year Programs is to assist students in the transition to East Carolina University.  As a new student, you will gain valuable information about yourself, the campus, and the ECU community by participating in programs such as New Student Orientation, Camp P.I.R.A.T.E.S., Pirate Read, and taking the freshman seminar course (COAD 1000).

The Division of Student Affairs has developed an intentional and proactive continuum to structure experiential learning activities and support services in anticipation of the developmental needs and challenges that students will likely encounter during their college experience. A thematic framework is being used to articulate and bring attention to the concept of students success: CONNECT, INVEST, MOTIVATE and FINISH STRONG.
