Registration will open in mid-March
Camp P.I.R.A.T.E.S. is an extended orientation program designed to assist students in the transition to ECU. This three-day, two-night program helps build a strong foundation for a successful college experience. Through fun activities you will develop new friendships, learn about campus involvement and leadership opportunities, learn more about resources on campus, embrace Pirate spirit and traditions, and become part of the Pirate family. This is also an opportunity to develop close friendships and meaningful skills to thrive in the first year of college.
Participants will move in early and then ride a bus from the ECU campus to camp where you will stay in an air-conditioned cabin. So whether you’re anxious or thrilled about starting college this fall, take the leap and sign up!

How is Camp P.I.R.A.T.E.S. different than orientation?
At orientation, students receive an introduction to the ECU campus, campus resources, advising and majors, and student life. Camp P.I.R.A.T.E.S. focuses on the next step—the transition from high school to college. You’ll discuss common transition topics, student life, and traditions, while participating in fun activities and forming bonds with other students in a more casual environment. First Mates, current upperclass students, are involved in many areas of campus and are eager to help new students find their place at ECU and thrive in their first year at ECU and beyond.
