FAQs

Is this a required program?  Yes. If you are a first-year student who received a waiver to live-off campus in the fall 2022 semester as you will be living with a parent or guardian, you are required to be a part of this program.

Is there an extra cost to be a part of PEG? You will be required to purchase a Gold 40 Meal Plan from Campus Dining. Otherwise, there is no cost to be a part of the program.

How many people will be in my COAD course? COAD courses are capped at 20 students.

I am transferring in credits for a Transfer Success Course I took at a community college. Do I still have to take COAD 1000? Yes. The course you are transferring in does not transfer to ECU as COAD 1000. Our COAD 1000 course is specifically geared on how to be successful at ECU and will cover information specific to ECU policies.

How much of a time commitment will it be to be a part of PEG? You will be required to take a COAD 1000 course, which meets twice a week for 50 minutes.

Is there anyway to be given an exemption to the program? You can fill out this form and return it to the Office of Student Transitions. Our committee will review your exemption and let you know of their decision as soon as possible.

Who do I contact with questions or concerns? If you have questions about COAD 1000, please contact the Office of Student Transitions at 252-328-4173 or transitions@ecu.edu. For questions concerning the Gold 40 meal plan, please contact Campus Living at housing@ecu.edu.
